Yes. Its not an original. Its going to replace the c o m. Its a piece I picked up from a trans shop that I used to do bizzniz with in ga. Supposed to be a rebuilt but I want to go thru it and take a look at it b 4 I install it. I need to find a manual for it.
Just wondering if c6's built for an fe were only made from 66-91?. Then I wouldn't really need a date code, but it would be nice to know when it was made. That's all
C6's internally are all pretty much the same. As long as you have the correct bell housing pattern you should be good to go. You can find a manual online, just google atsg. They make really good manuals for automatics. Usually have step by step to tear down and rebuild.
Yes, they stopped printing books for older transmissions. I work at a transmission parts supply house. I can check on Tuesday to see if we still have the paper version.
No problem. Does your C6 have the truck style bolt on yoke? If you can get the casting number on the side of the case, I can at least give you a range of what years yours covered.
The "D6" says its a '76 and later transmission. What size motor are you wanting to bolt this up to? I will check on the yoke as well. I know we have the correct tail housing cuz I just put one back in stock yesterday.
The idea I have now is for a 4-500 hp motor. I have no idea what is in there now. What is in there now is going to be a factor in what I build. 428 sounds nice. More than likely only a 390 though.
Does your C6 look like this one? This would fit a 352-360-390 motor. I think you might have a 300-302-351 type case, but I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first or last time.
