I have recently purchased a 54 F100 that I will attempt to upgrade, and this looks like the place for advice. It will probably not be a full restoration, so time will tell.

I have read a lot of good things on the board that have helped already.

 

I have a 55 and have had for many years. I did not know what to do with it until I started looking at all the other projects that were going on. Now it seems like everything is falling into place. My purpose will be to use it once a week or so how about you. Thanks

 

It will be a few months before any noticable improvement.

I'd like to rewire it, clean or replace the gas tank, give it a tune up, and repair the brakes. That should be good enough for short, rural drives.

Then I'll decide whether to sell it or keep going with the upgrade.

I have no desire to customize it. I just want to drive an old truck.
