Where to buy 1996-97 F250 Crew Cab?

I may be in the market for a truck in the near future. If I could I'd like to find a 96-97 F250 Crew Cab 4x4 in good shape. I haven't found any up here in Northern Ontario. I'm considering having one shipped up from the US. I was hoping you guys could tell me, where is a good place to find these trucks for sale on-line. The truck is going to be my DD, but I do occasionally pull some trailers. Gas or Diesel, auto or manual trans doesn't matter.

Also, what are some of the bad things I should watch out for.

That's my dream truck right there! I'm planning to do a cab swap on mine in a few years, but I've seen a lot around lately here in Arizona. There's usually one or two on craigslist here in the Phoenix area and in SoCal. Expect to pay a premium though, and shipping would be pretty expensive. If you did buy one from this far south you'd be better off road tripping it up north. Plus side though would be zero rust.

You're right about the shipping, it might kill it for me. I'll have to see if I can find a truck, then see about getting it shipped. The main thing is the "No Rust" that you mentioned. If I buy one, I don't want any rust. That's another reason I was thinking about the US.

Texas, Arizona, California, Nevada. Pretty much somewhere warm and dry. Up here in the NW is an option as well though. We don't salt the roads here so rust really isn't an issue.

Texas and Oklahoma… but Texas trucks are bringing higher prices due to the boom in the oil patch.

Craig's list…. why not fly in and drive it home?

Do you have to pay any sort of import duties? Just something to consider. I'd look in Colorado as well (Western slope more specifically). There are some peaches out there and they don't salt either.

Thanks for all the replies so far!!!
Now, I have an idea of what areas to check out. My goal is to buy a truck and have it shipped for $10 000 (or less). So, the price of the truck does matter. I might consider flying down to pick it up, I'll have to factor a plane ticket into the cost. Plus I think you have to wait at the border for a couple days (Hotel costs) while all the paper work clears.

Yes, there would be duty fees and taxes to bring it to Canada, all factors I have to take into consideration. There is a classic car shop near me that routinely brings cars across the border. I was thinking they may be able to help me get a truck brought up from south of the border.

Thanks again for all the help so far.

NOT going to happen.

I paid 6800 for my rust CCSB 3 years ago and I STOLE it

A RUST FREE one is 15-20k. I have already been offered 25k(several times) for mine since I restored it and turned it down

You can get clean one here for $6k-$8k but they are pretty high mileage (pushing 300k miles)

Holy Smokes, I see what you mean about the truck prices in Texas! After the long weekend, I'll stop in at the car shop and get a ball park figure on what it would cost for shipping. Then I'll have an idea on what I can spend on a truck.
For now, I'll keep up the window shopping.

OldTrusty, he's looking for a 250 crew cab. Only made them in 96 & 97, and only as short beds.
