insulation on hose in 84 f250

Hi. I'm putting my 250 back together, and the insulation on the hose that runs across the cowl above and behind the engine is crumbling. Now is the time to replace it. I assume the engine bay gets too hot to use the black foam pipe insulation sold for houses. Can anyone give me a lead? Thanks

The neoprene stuff should be fine, but the cheap, plastic-ish stuff may not be good enough.
