Proper alternator readings what should they be ?

Yeah, if I see my volts at 13.5 at idle when I first start it (after the GP's have shut off), I'll check it again to make sure i'm at 14.x at idle when I reach my destination.

I did, with two different meters. Its under performing in my opinion but tests on alternator at parts store are good.

Double check all your ground points. Make sure they are clean and have good contact.
Also, check to make sure the ring terminal that attaches to the alternator is making good contact and in good working order. When I started having fluctuations, I thought it was my alt but it turned out to be a bad terminal end wire.
