Rear Drum Brake Job in our 66 F250

I've taken off one drum so far. It doesn't have the small bail wire over the end. That's not to say it never did, but doesn't now.
The upper part 2A601 is part number
C6TZ-2A601-A - Rear Brake Cam and Lever Anti-Rattle Spring
Here's a picture of this same side again, from a different perspective.
There is a threaded stud in the top center that acts as a pivot point. It's hard to tell in your picture, but is that stud intact?
I am having a bit of a time with the drivers side hub/drum coming off. Got one of the big 2 3/8" nuts off and the washer and the inner nut moves freely to a point and then catches on a thread or burr. I'm heading to get a "Dana Rounded Spindle Nut Socket" in a bit. Once I get that side off I'll take a couple more pictures.

Yours doesn't have that bail wire on the end of the cable, but seems you need something to keep the cable end from coming loose. I assume your e-brakes have been working fine?
Here they are calling 2A601 a parking brake strut spring
Ford C6TZ 2A601 A Parking Brake Component Parking Brake Strut Spring Low $$$ | eBay
And yes, the stud on mine is intact. The so called strut spring is shot though - no spring left

Got drivers side off now as well.
It won't fall off. Just to get it to come off on purpose I have to compress the spring sufficiently by hand and then rotate the loose cable outward until it clears the channel in the lever.
The lower end of the lever where it bends 90° is sandwiched between the e-brake cable spring and barrel tip.

Makes sense that the tension of the cable spring holds it in place. Think the reason the PO had chicken wire on mine was that the spring was broken and so there was not sufficient tension to hold the end of the cable on the c-lever. That means one less part to look for once I get a decent set of rear cables with unbroken springs
