FTE NC Bonfire

So at tonight's meet-n-eat, the idea was tossed around of having a bonfire. Seems we have a few players of stringed musical thingamajigs in the group, and the majority of us have an affinity for the smell of a woodfire and adult beverages. Such a shindig would be on my land in caswell county. Somebody kick out some dates and let's get the plan rolling.

I'm in. Maybe when it gets a little cooler. I'll check the calendar for sept/oct.

Do we need to bring wood? Chainsaw?

If you got some wood you want to get rid of, bring it on. There's plenty of deadfall that can be dragged out of the woods as well.

While I am up in Wilkes County should I be looking for some of Junior Johnson's finest blend? Either way count me in on the bon-fire. Dates are pretty much open cause I don't plan too many things in advance. But I don't think I could miss the opportunity to sit around with some good ole boys playing music and sipping suds to the light of a nice fire, as a matter of fact that is what I will be doing in the mountains this weekend.A couple of pics to remind everyone of the idea at hand. Beside it would be a great photo op for a group pic for the forum.

Willie,
You picked a beautiful spot to set up camp.

I'm tied up the first couple of weekends in September, camping at Carolina beach on the first weekend, then kayaking in Lillington on the second weekend.

It's close to a four hr drive for me, so if I go, I'll sleep there in my truck and leave in the morning.

It is a camp out. I think everyone so far is staying the night. Tent or truck.

Try to bring something to compliment the cook out. Some are bringing food or drinks. I haven't figured out what I'm bringing yet. Maybe breakfast stuff.

Staying the night was kind of assumed once we started speaking of beverages haha.

Breakfast stuff is a good idea, James!

Man this thing seems to be gaining popularity. Cool. Hey lets keep it going and make it an event to remember. Good food, good friends, and good music. Sounds like a great time to me.

I don't know if any of you guys have been talking dates, but early to mid November would be great. Let the cool air come in. That would make for a more enjoyable campfire. Besides, October is booked for me.
