So far I've only seen one meltdown and I couldn't get a straight answer on how hot it got run. It had stage 1s in it and he said he never got it over 1300* for more than 8-10, seconds.. I chalked it up to he was either lying or his glowshift gauge lied to him. The injector nozzle wasnt cracked and there was a hole in the piston is all I know. He traded the truck in immediately. Even drove it to the dealership that way. Lol.

Does the top of the piston deform a little when it gets to hot or is it always a hole in the piston?

I think in all practicality that you'd have to hit a very small window to just deform a piston without blowing a hole in it.

Either way will work, but mine stopped fluttering when I drilled, tapped and installed the line into the outlet T of the turbo. The MAP line only reads the pressure on one bank so the intake pulses aren't smoothed out as much.

And yes, no more than 1200* EGT for very long or you're flirting with disaster.

Somebody said I had stage 2's? Don't really know the difference? I did tap into the map line. So I should tap it into the outlet side of the turbo? Can you possibly shoot me a pic?

I don't have any pictures right now, but I'll shoot one tonight and upload it tonight or tomorrow.

Stage 1's or 2's either way you should be pushing close to 30 PSI boost.

Could it be the setting I have my TS chip on? I just keep it on what they called economy/tow. But it has:
  • All out
  • Street
  • Economy Tow
  • Idle up
  • Stealth
  • Heavy tow
I haven't really tried it on any of the others. I know that "All Out" and "Street" will Smoke like a freight train if you give it a little pedal.

Yeah, that could be it too. That tune may de-fuel to keep EGT's in check. Try the street tune and see what happens to the boost numbers.

Here's a pic so you can see where I tied in my boost line.
