Is this a good price?

I am looking at buying a set of what I believe are GT40 Heads. They are on a explorer in the local junkyard. I forgot to ask what was wrong with the car but I asked how much he wanted for the heads and he said $125 but I am pretty sure I can get him down to $100.

Do you think that is a great price?

I am pretty sure they are GT40s but not 100% as their is no door tag or anywhere saying what year 2nd gen explorer it is. I would have gotten a pic but I was on my bike and couldn't bring my camera and my stupid phone wouldn't take a pic.

$100 is a real good price on them if they aren't garbage.

The only way to tell if they are good is to pull them off and inspect them. Check the casting #'s to be sure you are buying what you want.

Five.Oh Info : The Ultimate Ford GT40 and GT40P Cylinder Head FAQ

Best way to tell is looking for three or four bars on the castings. GT40 heads are going to be easier to install than GT40P heads, mainly because of the spark plug angle.

$100 is a decent price. Do you have to pull them off for that price, or are they pulling them off?

I have to pull them but they are also giving me a great deal on something else so I don't mind it.
I knew about spark plug angle diffrences I was hoping I could look at the spark plug angle and know weather it is a GT40 or GT40P that way I don't do some work for nothing.

I will have to look when I go back to make sure they are GT40s.
