Speedo gear on 89 F150

Anyone have information on the speedo gear setup for a 89F 150 manual?

Is it just the plastic gear I can access from the outside that needs to be replaced or is there something inside the housing I need to look at also?

If theres a thread covering this and you could point me at it.

Trying to gather as much info as possible
