Fuel Filler Neck

Hello guys(and ladies),

I am having some trouble finding a fuel filler neck for the rear tank of a 1979 f150 4x4. Rock auto, LMC and Bronco Graveyard don't have the part listed. They have pretty much everything but the metal filler neck. Mine has rusted out and dumps half of what I put in onto the ground. The PO looks to have covered it in POR15 as a temporary fisame as the gas tank).

Does anyone know where I can order of these? For those of you with a master parts catalog, are there any NOS parts left in the USA? Or anyone outside of the rust belt willing to pull a good part?

They do not carry the metal pipe going from the fuel door to the fuel hose. The hose is in good condition, I am of in need of the metal part.

I am sure you can get the rust cut out and welded if its not to far gone, of course with the tube REMOVED from the truck. lol I'd call a local welding shop, should be cheap and easy job.

Those are the exact parts I need! However the websites did not pull up any results. I am tempted to weld and fabricate something now that you mention it. Possibly use some exhaust tubing of the same size if the rust is bad enough. Or just weld in a patch panel for where the rust has come through the metal completely.

Check and see if a muffler shop can bend you up one and weld the flange back on, they have a tubing bender and plenty of tube.

Before I go and fabricate a new one, could someone check for me if there are any NOS parts left in the US? Thanks for the link, but would that work for the rear tank?

Check these guys out. They specialize in older 4x4's and hard to find parts. I got a set of steering knuckles from them once for my 78 f150. And they were like brand new from a 30 year old truck. http://www.drivenautoparts.com/ They may have what you need.

FWIW this is one of those topics that has been addressed a couple of years ago. IRRC there is no NOS of these anymore. So you have to go used or new aftermarket( if they are even available)now. Last I checked no one made new repops of these. But again that was a couple of years ago now.

I think you need D7TZ9034R - of which I can't find any (I can't check dealers though).

It could also be D8TZ9034AA - of which I can't find any.

Hopefully somebody (ND or Mike) can chime in to correct my errors.

No dealer has either one either.

I have been unsuccessful in finding a repop filler neck for the rear tank. The front tank was easy enough to find. I called the filler neck website number and asked them. They did not have any at the current time, but said they would within the next few weeks. Further inspection will decide if I can wait for that, or if I need to fabricate something on my own. My best guess is that I will have exhaust tube bent and a new lock ring welded on to fit the gas cap. Thanks for the help guys!
