I saw a "Gator Wrench" and they are $$$ for a big set of pliers.

How does this solve my 'access' problem? Is there a special oil filter wrench only fits Motorcraft filters?

I have the exact same wrench from Autozone... I'll have to put it on there & take a snapshot so you can advise.

Interestingly enough, Ford mounted one of these just under the filter... tho it looks like the engine head has flexed it as the back end that's actually under the filter is bent down

My daughter's PT Crusier oil filter has one of those situations where this would be convenient... I've been cutting open a milk jug to do the trick.

I have to slide the lower rad hose over a bit but I get mine on without too much fuss. I'm interested to see the pic, maybe something is different from mine to yours?
