door glass replacement
I am getting a little frustrated with my window glass for the doors in my 79 crew.
All new weatherstrip, on the drivers side a new regulator assembly. All cleaned and lubed. Problem is:::::: As window is rolled up, to about 3/4 up, the window shifts slightly to the rear of the door. thus leaving a gap to the front top , (by the wing window).
I am not sure yet if I will get a wind noise, as I have not got her road ready totally.
Anybody else notice this?? the only adjustments is the wing window lower bolt and that does nothing for me, and the latch side of the door has a weatherstrip metal channel. I have moved that aroung and no help. there is no adjustment for the upper part of the window.

Thanks, Kevin

Is your glass all worn down from cranking up and down??? -Just kidding hehe!
The window needs a little slop to allow it to work. Is the weatherstrip OEM or aftermarket?
I have not measured the glass in my windows yet but they could be slightly trapezoidal in order to make them fit tight when raised.
Sounds like Dennis needs to work on his windows a bit... Mine just crank straight up and down even tho the weatherstrip is shot.
Let's find out if we have any good glass men around

WHOO WHO. I figured out the door glass not sealing at top dilemma. Yippe Skippy!!!!!!!!!!!
All new seals, different regulators, adjusted every which way but loose. Even different glass. No luck...
But, I extended the regulator by cutting the arm in half. Then, added a piece in betweeen to lengthen and then welded up.
What I first did was weld one end of the middle piece. Then on the other end I drilled to holes and oblonged the holes so the bolts could slide, thus finding the right lenght to work the best.
Once I got that cyphered, I welded that up.
Works great.
