The jugs I got are 5-6 gallons. Keep in mind the hose/spout is an extra add on. And those shaker siphon hoses do work quite well.

This is what I use, I of course got them free. I have 3.

Amazon.com: Scepter Military-Style Fuel Canister (No Spout): Home Improvement Amazon.com: Scepter Military-Style Fuel Canister (No Spout): Home Improvement

If you can find some of these, I have a couple of brand new metal spouts designed for this. I rock the plastic one, I got two just incase one ever breaks.

Why not a RDS small aux tank and their gravity feed valve. I've use both gravity and Airtex pump with two different RDS tanks. Excellent quality and cheaper than other sources.

Tractor supply sells kits for the new tanks/nozzles. I can't remember what they are called but it is the old style nozzle and comes with a valve. 10 bucks and you just drill a half inch hole for the valve. I bought several of them because I am sure it is a matter of time until someone catches on and bans them. Auto parts stores sell racing fuel tanks but they are expensive. I check yard sales and sometimes my older customers just want the tanks gotten rid of. I mow lawns so I regularly go through 15-20 gallons a week and can't stand the new tanks.

Mod can

Nice mods.

I simply punch a hole where the vent should be and then use some gorilla tape over new the hole. Works well if you don't use if all the time.

Saying that I going to order the performance cans with hoses.

Icthus, After having lived in AK for 20+ yrs my self, most people will never understand the fact that carrying extra fuel/gas is a must. I get it....
I like the valve stem idea, how are you getting it pulled into the hole that is drilled into the jug, I saw that a clothes hanger is mentioned..
Thx

Wire clothes hanger, but any stiff wire would work.

I checked out 3 local stores and Amazon but only saw crap funnels. Can anyone recommend a good funnel with a flow rate greater than 0.3 gal/hr? I have those stupid CARB-compliant diesel cans (plastic, really) and the nozzles on those suck, too.

Sorry for the rant but I also had to deal with the post office today which reminded me, again, why I use FedEx and UPS. Don't even get me started with that organization...
How about a nice long transmission funnel?

Hand pump ? Yugster - Easy Flow Hand Fuel Pump - Easy Fills and No More Spills
I saw a few others no idea how they work or how cheap you want to go.
I would look into even an electric style pump that you could wire to your battery.

All,
I wound up getting one of the siphon pumps with the brass end and 6' of clear tubing--works like a champ and puts 5gal in the tank in just about 1.5 min.

Amazon.com: Hopkins FloTool 10801 Shaker Siphon with 6' Anti-Static Tubing: Automotive Amazon.com: Hopkins FloTool 10801 Shaker Siphon with 6' Anti-Static Tubing: Automotive

Nothing spilled. Thanks for all the suggestions!
