Where did you mount your CB?

In my 1978 Chevy Blazer back in the 80s when CBs were cool! Sorry I couldn't help myself. These trucks are pretty crammed up for that kind of thing unless you have a fairly small CB. Do you have the full console or the seat in the middle?

I have one of those mini sized cobra units, I mounted it right under the headlight switch ****. When the door closes the corner of the armrest touches the radio.
If I had a full sized radio I'd mount it, well, I see why you're searching for ideas, lol.
I guess try the ceiling somehow? Between your knees? Probably need a sawzall and a new hole in the center console, haha.

I mounted a Cobra 29ltd on the drivers side of the center console, on the outside of the built in "pocket". So my leg kinda rests against it when I drive. I contemplated for a long time before mounting but it's the best I could come up with. I like it because I can see well and adjust it(channel, squelch, volume) easily. The only thing I don't really like is that the face of the radio gets dirty from dust and whatever.
The antenna I mounted on the drivers side near windshield, it basically mirrors the the radio antenna. Seems to be working out very well, except when I added HID lights I get some feedback on the cb when lights are on.
I can try to snap a couple pics if you would like to see it.

The dash top tray works great for me and allows for adjustment without taking my eyes off the road.
I see that the high trim package trucks don't have the dash tray anymore though.
I used to have a Cobra 29 CB as well, in the same spot. The use of 27MHz CB has fallen out of favour of these parts so I upgraded to a VHF mobile.

The holders are just so pricey!
On a more serious note...I am holding out a little longer to see how the 2015's do. I am now looking at the DRW options as I am looking for a little more stability while hauling.

My Cobra 29 is mounted on the lower drink holder. I screwed into it. I don't the center console so this works great. Antenna is on the left hood cowl. I have a 3 ft firestick. It is mounted like the Fm antenna but on the drivers side. This works well with my overhead truck camper cab. Also driver thru's,etc.

My CB (Cobra 29WXNWBT) is actually just wedged in the driver side storage pocket of my center console. It's tall/wide enough to fit without bending the plastic much or sliding around at all. My mic just hangs on a hook attached to my sun visor. I think when I add a VHF radio soon though they'll both get screwed into the tray on top of the dash.
