2008 F550 6.4L

I'm looking a purchasing a 2008 f550 6.4L with 102,000 miles. I pull goosenecks all over the united States would this be a smart purchase or should I stay clear??

Thanks.

I would opt for something newer if you were going to go cross country as part of a job.

How heavy are the goosenecks? A F550 seems to me like overkill.

I would be pulling a 40' gooseneck with upwards of 15-16k worth of cargo.

I feel that its a bit excessive as well I was curious if the truck would be worth the purchase.

Thank you for your feed back.

I easily pull 17400 fiver with an '09 450--why not look for a pickup in a '09 or '10. Granted, the cost will be higher, but might turn out to be a better setup.

I think up to model year 2010 in F450 is right up your ally.

Other wise even my '13 F350 can pull up to 22,500.

Thanks for the feed back. I've opted out of the F550 because I think its a bit excessive.

I currently drive a 2013 F350 SRW with a 6.2L Gasser. I do not pull that current weight now as listed above that's why I'm looking for a larger truck and a diesel motor.

I have however been offered a sweet deal on a 2015 F350 dually 6.7L.

Has anyone heard much about the new beefed up 6.7?

pickuptrucks.com

They did a comparison of the big three.

That should answer a lot for you right there.
