Mishimoto 200° vs. Ford 192° thermostat
Thanks to Bismic for telling us about these Mishimoto T-stats. It is part # MMTS-F2D-03H
Mishimoto 200° on left, Ford 192° on right. I'm in the process of installing the Mishimoto....taking a break to show you guys pics. I'll have a video of the thermostat removal up later for those that would like to see.
The Mishimoto T-stat does NOT come with the 3C3Z-8255-AA o-ring for the thermostat housing. I re-used mine since it was fairly new. If you're replacing a T-stat that's been in there awhile, you might want to get a new o-ring.
Right now I only see it available at 2 places...

The only thing I did was replace the thermostat. I just went for a test drive, and I like what I see so far. On interstate, cruising steady at 65 mph I saw 203 - 205 ECT with 95° outside air temp. I was not towing, and just me in the Excursion. With my fairly new Ford thermostat, my normal interstate ECT was 186 -188. I gained about 15° in coolant temp by only changing to the Mishimoto 200°.
Here's a Torque Pro screenshot while on interstate....

Yea I noticed the bleed valve too. Yes, that main spring is BEEFY! Was fun pushing it down to install in the housing. I didn't pay much attention at the time, but I'm pretty sure there is no lower spring. (I'm not taking it back out to check!)

I bought mine directly from Mishimoto....I suggest getting one from here for $56 & free shipping....that's a whole lot cheaper than I paid.

Will do for sure, as I'm very curious myself. I have a 200+ mile trip next week.... I will fuel up before and after the trip. I normally average 17-18 on the highway....I'll update the thread with the results next weekend.
