I sure did. Was worried about that before I took it apart. When I did I went for it. Went right in and didn't even have to boil it. Just finished a 50 mile test drive and this thing is absolutely the best money I have spent so far on the truck. My splits had grown to 10° and was worried I was on the path to a cooler. Well my splits are back to 6° or less. I am extatic. Oh and no leaks TD

Nice to hear.
Are you going to track the MPG for a while?

I sure am. Just filled up yesterday. If the lie o meter is any indication so far I'll pick up 1-2 mpg. Had just lost a couple and it was right at the time winter fuel was kicking in.

Put my Mishi in last night. Put the new o ring in, it leaked. Put the old one in, it quit. Just my luck I guess.
But my temps are in the 190's, so hopefully the truck is happy.

Mine was actually pretty messed up. I was going to keep it for a backup but it's unusable.

Can you put the thermostat in wrong? On my way to work tonight, I never got above 186°f. Last night it went to 192.
It was fairly warm tonight at 35°.

It only goes in one way but I'd say it needs a cycle or two to acclimatize itself.

I noticed that myself--on my run Saturday it took a good while just to get to 200 but then stayed there. This morning it warmed up to 126 fairly quick and with a stop to get coffee about 3 miles from the house it was 184. Took a few miles on the interstate to get up to 200 but to my surprise my temp split was even better today--went down to 5 degrees instead of 6 and that was with the commute hills and getting up to 70 a few times. It may be early with but I again could not be more pleased. At one point I thought my scangauge froze up because the temps once up never moved until I got off the interstate

Got mine installed over the weekend, I used Fel-Pro - Thermostat Gasket
Part # 35808 instead of the ford part, it was $1.50 at O'Reily . My 04 had the 92 part number housing, the new stat didn't seat at first, I hit it with a heat gun and let it cool and it seated perfectly.

It was 21°f tonight, and hottest it got was 176°f. 😒 back to blocking the radiator off. Dammit.

Do you have the radiator blocked?
10 on my way home, never went above 184.
Maybe I bought the cooler one.
Edit: just checked the box, it is the right numbers.
WTH?
My truck has always run cold, even with the brand new motorcraft thermostats.
Wonder why?

I got the 03h. Says high temp on the box too.
Oh well, I will just go back to blocking the radiator.
The only time I can get this truck hot is pulling hard,up hill in the summer. Than I can get up into the 220°f range.

Wonder if my degaus cap is shot? Can't that make them run cool? Or is it vice versa?
