Ordered mine on the 23rd and received in in the mail yesterday... goes in this weekend using a new Ford housing. I'll compare the new Mishimoto to the Ford one as well. Maybe run it in the pan on the stove several times just to make sure.

Alright guys, I want to do this upgrade as I am usually under 190 all the time right now. However, I am a little concerned with everyone that has reported problems getting it to seat properly. I have a 2004 with a date of 06/04 on the door sticker. Is there anyway to know for sure that I won't have any issues if I order one?

You have a late '04 engine, so it shouldn't pose a problem. You may just have to boil it in the housing like I had to with mine and it'll work just fine.

It's totally worth the money as you've seen throughout this thread.

If you have a aftermarket t stat, it might not fit the housing. How to I know this you may ask? I have a stant one on the bench, the dial indicator doesn't lie.As you can see I've been though a bunch of stats in 2 years

This gave me a thought....do some aftermarket t-stats come assembled in their own new housing? If so, this could be why some people are having fitment issues with the Mishimoto....if they are being installed in an aftermarket housing that are not the same specifications of OEM.

Well with all the "FUN" you all are having and the fact that I
seem to be holding at 192º with a stock T-stat from IH.
I think I will skip this purchase. 8º is not worth the price.

Going to order one now. Any specific directions on boiling it if I need to go that route? How long, etc.

Edit - Just ordered it. $50.40 out the door including delivery! Can't wait to get it installed.

Thanks. I hope to install it this weekend. UPS has it arriving today, I was surprised since I just ordered it late yesterday afternoon.

Install the T-stat in the housing before you drop it in the hot water.

(you only have to do this if the flange on the t-stat does not seal on the housing)

Had to do mine last night, glad I had a spare housing.
