Installed mine yesterday..... sure glad that I read thru this prior to installing it. After I let it boil on the stove for 10 minutes it slipped into either housing. The 92 AND the 91. I used the 91. Temps are great!! 200 - 202 all the time with the oil running 7* higher. Lots closer than with the Ford 'stat.

The hardest thing in the install was re-installing the *)(&&%$@#_) air cleaner!

Why did you remove the air filter?

I'm with you on the air cleaner--mine gives me fits every time I mess with it ☺

Looks like I am calling customer service tomorrow. I just don't want to rip it apart 3X for 1 thermostat.
O and if it is 45*f and I beat the snot out of my truck up a 3 mile mountain I can get to 195*f. Of course it goes right back to 179-184*f on the way back down the other side.

You kinda have to in order to remove the thermostat without having to be a contortionist.

I simply slide the boot near the degas bottle back and lift the air filter out.

I never have to fight mine to get it to reach 200*. This morning it was 45* out and I had no problem getting to 200* before I got to the freeway.

Not on an 05+. Remove 2 bolts and the upper clamp and remove as an assembly.

When I did mine I removed the bolts then pulled the hose underneath the intake tube then took it off of the hose lol.

Ordered mine from XDP on Monday. Direct shipped from Mishimoto and scheduled for delivery 12/18. Can't wait to see how much a higher ECT (currently 186) temp affects the 166* EOT that the bulletproof holds.

I apologize that you continue to have issues with our thermostat. Please contact our customer service team, they will send you a new thermostat out as soon as possible.

Thanks!

THAT would be VERY Interesting.. I'm probably the only guy using a FIA Winter Front in Florida to keep my oil temps 190+, when it's below 60* outside..

My '05 excursion has an '05 engine, but the intake and a few other parts are carryover '04 parts.

From what I remember, the '05+ come with a one piece design that doesn't allow for my method.

The early engines have the front mounted EBP sensor that interferes with the easy method.

Otherwise, nothing to it.

Just got done contacting Mishi. That was easy, but I will probably have to do it again, seeing's that I forgot to attach a copy of my receipt. The customer service team seems super friendly, considering I might be one of the most awkward ppl you would ever have to talk to on the phone. (I hate talking on the phone. I stumble, ramble, awkward pause, nervousness....)

UPS says mine is waiting at the house for me but it won't get done tonight. Hopefully it'll be installed early Saturday morning and I can go for a drive. Currently with ~40* ambient temps it doesn't open the thermostat in 6 miles after a 10 minute warm up in the morning.

AFA I can tell. The RT-1169 thermostat housing I have at the house is a 91 so I can at least get it installed and report on any fitment issue.

I have a 91 and had to boil my 'stat to get it in. ALMOST lost the pin down the garbage disposal too!!! It came out of the housing.
