I have a sporadic problem with my wipers - most of the time they run correct but sometimes there is an annoying chatter - I have the Bosch replacements and they run well even when dry but every once in a while they start chattering. One time the wiper blade even fell off.....if I go to the dealer, they want to see the problem but if it is sporadic they can do nothing (had a problem with a speaker and it took 3 tries before they heard the defect) - anyone have this same issue and if so what was the solution?
^^X2, I would replace the wiper blades, but would really clean the windshield good, wiper blades don't last too long down here, heat gets them fairly quick, not sure where you are at or how old the wipers are, one thing I absolutely cannot stand is a skipping wiperblade......
well the blades are new and the windshield clean - I use the Rainex washer fluid and typically do not even need the wipers...however the problem is definitely mechanical or electrical since it only happens sporadically...I think I'll take a cell phone video next time it happens and then schedule appt with the dealer - it's a pain since you have to schedule the drop off, pickup, etc. but need to get this fixed while still under warranty...

Let me know how things go at the dealership, Sputz. If you need my help after you get a diagnosis, just let me know.
also cleaning the blades regularly with alcohol makes a huge difference. I've started doing it every time i wash any of my trucks and i've had no wiper issues since i started doing it.
Wash
Clay bar
Stoners Invisible glass
Denatured alcohol on the blades
That's the steps I use and have yet to have chatter. Just did the same on my fathers vehicle and his chatter went away. His glass was full of contaminants that the clay bar picked up and removed.
lift the blades off the window periodically and keep some anti-rust or silicone spray on the wiper arm hinge and spring to maximize the amount of downward force on the blade; it slowly reduces as the hinge pivot point oxidizes.
I've tried Bosch blades a couple times on different vehicles - hate 'em. They don't work well on some rigs. I go cheap now because I replace them a couple times a year.
Down south, we have to replace a lot more often (I assume) than up north, all the rain we get and the intense heat takes a toll on wiper blades, I use inexpensive ones also, but I actually wax my windshield, not a big fan of rain x. The wax beads water as good or better than rain x IMO. It has to be real heavy rain for me to use the wipers, or if I am traveling real slow like in city traffic.
Lots of ppl swear by the clay bar. My friend would use a straight blade and
scrape the glass with it. Amazing how much gunk builds up without seeing it.
Clay bar works well, that's the key though, get all of the crap off before treating the glass, whether rain x or wax, works ten times better on a clean windshield.
i had bosch icons on my 2011. When my windshield was replaced they replaced the wipers, within 2 weeks the new wipers were chattering. Drove me nuts, replaced them with the rain-x wipers. When i turned in my 2011 i took the rain-x off and put back the crappy icons.
