1987 F-150, new to me. Depressing clutch pedal slightly depresses brake pedal, enough to slightly engage brakes. I can pull brake pedal up with my toes, but it'll happen the next time I push down on the clutch. More pronounced when engine is running. I've tried spraying with lube but no luck so far. Please let me have your thoughts....thanks in advance.

 

sounds like the bushing in the pedal assembly is worn out, causing the clutch to rub the brake.

can't really say for sure, i never fixed one. only heard of others doing it.

you can remove all the parts while leaving the brackets in. it involves sliding the shaft to the side - but if it is somehow rusted, this may be hard to do.

 

Thanks, all. A little more WD-40 with the gas pedal almost in my mouth and I got it. Squeak is gone, pedals move independently, etc. Smooth as silk!!! Guess I dodged that bullet.....
