I installed a cold air intake on my expy about 2 years ago and I can't remembered how long ago it started but now it makes a loud noise when you first crank it and when you come to a complete stop. It's kind of like a strong sucking sound with a hum to it. Please help.. It's aggravating.

 

Did you inspect the intake ducts to make sure all of the joints are intact and tight?

 

Yes it's coming from the filter I believe but idk what the problem is

 

Take the filter out temporarily to see if the noise goes away. If it does then the filter elements are coming loose.

 

A lot of aftermarket CAI's will make a strong sucking noise when you hit the gas. They don't have an air silencer. The hum could be it vibrating against something.

 

While the engine is idling and making the noise, unplug the idle air control and see if the noise instantly goes away.
