Pick up 2015 F-350 6.7 PSD. On the window sticker it shows a Snow Plow Package that was only an $85.00 option. I was wondering what that could be? Thanks
I have the snow plow prep option on my '07 (6k front springs, fan clutch, alternator), I've never used a plow with this truck and it hasn't been detrimental. I wouldn't consider it a plus or a minus until you're well into the list of things you do and don't want on the sticker.
it sucks when you think O im buying this brand new F350 to tow and haul and plow snow then months later your told you didn't get the plow package so no heavy duty front springs no hd battery alternator and fan clutch. O i want to tow my camper of equipment trailer and now i need air bags or add-a-leafs because my truck didn't come with overload springs......... its just sad
I think everybody else covered it. I ordered mine without it and the salesman looked at me like I was nuts. It's only $85, but the heavier front springs make the front taller and the dually already has too little rake. I wanted to avoid airbags, but the rear springs suck and I had to install them anyway. My truck will never, ever, see a plow.
I prefer it because the Diesel engine is heavy and I think the stiffer springs prevent wollowing or bouncing on some of these rough roads. What ever spring choice you go with, aftermarket shocks are a must.
Thank you. I didn't know that. What do the aftermarket shocks do for you? I don't have enough experience to know that. I have an '04 F-250 6.0 with only 44k miles. The truck seems to feel fine on the 4 original shocks. I did have to replace the original steering type shock that is horizontally mounted widthwise across the truck.
To me the truck feels more controlled, more settled, especially on bumpy PA roads when you have better shocks. It's one of those things where you don't notice how bad factory shocks are until you replace them with a quality shock.
