Problems with over drive please help!!!

Wuts up guys I'm new to this page and I need your help . I have a question to see if anybody knows the answer to. 2000 ford excursion 5.4L
When I start my excursion and put it in either reverse or drive the od switch starts to turn on and off and my truck begins to stall and it won't move does anybody know what this might be I've been trying to fix this for the longest and have not yet found the problem please help!!!!!

The flashing OD light means there is a problem with the transmission. You MUST get the codes read to find out what's wrong. Without the codes you can't do anything useful, you just waste time and money.

The places that read codes free CANNOT read Ford transmission codes. You need either a good independent shop or a Ford dealer.

Thank you for the info off to ford dealer we go to pay more than what the tranys worth lol
