Quoted you $65k? I hope you understand that truck should sell for closer to $45k mark up on truck is HUGE.

I sure don't see a 30% (or $20k) discount on these trucks any time soon.

I believe you are correct on that, especially with all the re-tooling and such, Ford gotta get their money back somehow. I feel it will be a good while before they offer as deep of discounts as the current series.

I am as excited as anyone about the potential of the 2015 F150 but this article provides a sobering account of the challenges that lay ahead:

http://www.autonews.com/article/2014...g-wont-be-easy

There are many unknowns - I personally would not want one of those first trucks that comes off the line.

The only thing I had to compromise on was the rear end. Max tow with 3.73 would push the date out to April. I can live with the 3.55 's as I only really tow my sleds most of the time.

You'll Love the Ford spray in liner, I have on the New Super Duty, pretty tough stuff! I'm hell on a truck bed, not one issue with mine so far.

Well they just ran 13 trucks monday in the body shop, as a test run,( these truck bodies will not be finished or sold, they are TEST bodies) and Final isnt up and running yet, and the paint shop isnt done with its upgrades for another week. So hopefully they wont have any major bugs with the equipment. December could be a possibility, Realy cool to watch them gut the body shop and the bring in trailer after trailer of equipment to be set up, and then watch the new rivet and bonding process, very cool.

The truck goes into production soon at Ford's Dearborn, Mich., factory, but only ordinary models for dealer inventory will be produced at first, the publication said, citing a confidential letter to dealers.

Some aluminum Ford F-150s will be tardy

Not many people have the opportunity to see and or participate in AMERICAN Manufacturing at its highest level. The immensity of the coordination and implementation of such a complex change-over of a monster plant must involve many trades, contractors, equipment manufacturers I can't even imagine. Are the assembly line Bots in place? how did the aluminum get cut, shaped and riveted? Keep the info flowing.
Fine buy me if dealer inventory gets built and shipped 1st, then I can test drive the two Eco's, compare and give Ford the time to refine the process.
