When driving I can turn the AC on and seems to run fine but when I come to a stop the AC starts to blow hot. If I turn the switch off for a few minutes and back on as I'm driving it will come back on and blow cold air. I've read about high and low pressure switches and air gap but not sure if these relate to my specific problem. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I apologize, if I would've googled my exact wording I would've found a thread from 2009 with my exact issue with replies that mention the air gap and how to possibly resolve it. Sorry for the wasted post!!
Check the air gap, but also check the high pressure switch on the AC lines. Its right next to the dipstick and it gets bumped all the time. After a while it will "waller" out the plug and become intermittent.
