It's the only thing I can think of that would cause the blue smoke at startup. It only lasts 2 to 3 seconds, but makes a good puff.

Replacing the seals should take less than a day, and I'll know for sure if it was them or not. Knowing me, I'll probably go ahead and pull the intake to have it soaked and cleaned too. I'm a glutton for punishment sometimes. In any case, I'll do a compression and a leak down test on it first.

Don't know anything about the V10's, but that's definitely a tell-tale sign and would lead me to the same conclusion too.

Not related to your problem, but since you're gonna have the intake and valve covers off, throw some preventive money (I mean maintenance) at the truck (if you can afford it) and swap in a new IAC.
