1995 F150 sway bar after 6" lift

After lifting my sons truck this weekend the front sway bar seems like its not long enough to hook back up. I connected one side and have about a 4 inch gap on the other side and can't bolt it back up. Any thoughts?

They make a separate bracket kit or longer arms for it.

The Tuff Country lift came with the sway bar drop down brackets which we installed and it is low enough but it's almost like it's not wide enough now. Won't span from one side all the way to the other. Here's a picture of the side not hooked up, I tried using a longer bolt to see if I could pull it over.

Lifting the truck wouldn't effect axle or sway bar length so something else must have changed, you removed the spring perches did you happen swap side to side? any difference in them right and left to start with?

If not and didn't swap them one thing notice in the image is the gap to the outside at the indexer, see arrow.

say if both of them are rotated as far out as they can be it may or may not be enough to explain the difference.

4 inches is quite a ways yea but with spring perches their bolts loosened up on both sides might be enough slop in that indexing to get what you need, I couldn't say for sure but you might recall having just had it all apart.

Thanks for the reply. No, definitely didn't swap them on accident. I'll try and close the gaps but don't think that will be enough. Ive heard people removing them altogether. Guess that's an option?

At this point I doubt it too but have no idea how much slop that indexing actually allows for.

The pins would provide for some pull but shouldn't need anywhere near that amount nor rely on it 100% of the time or using an extra long bolt to get it either.

Guess maybe should have asked, what did your lift kit consist of? retained use stock radius arms and the stock TTB, kit simply providing drop brackets for them and only "down" correct?
What I mean is brackets didn't relocate stock TTB out 2 inches with that 6 inches of drop, nothing so radical such as that?

Perhaps included extended arms / TTB? Seams you'd have mentioned something like that.

Oh and removing the say bar itself? if intend to run this truck mainly on the road and or no serious frame twisting off roading? with 6 inches of lift it's best to retain the sway bars help prevent roll over.

Got it! Thanks for mentioning the slop. I don't think that alone was enough but a couple wraps on both sides brought them both in enough for the bar to connect. Just drove it a few miles and all seems well. Thanks for the help. It was a full kit with extended radius arms, sway bar drop down, springs, ibeam drops...etc. Here is a pic today with the tires right before alignment.

Could you post a picture of how the sway bar drop brackets mount up?
