Thanks. I need to tweak some more on the dash, and fix the indicator for the gearshift...it's a little off lol. That's this weekend's thing.

Started getting some of the suspension parts I have for the SD swap ready for paint - something else I hope to do this weekend. Want to get that project done, as well as retrieve the wheels I'm putting on this so I can get tires fitted up.

Bill, love the cab lights, and the dash lights look really cool blue!

Yeah I thought the blue dash would be cool. Part of the theme is to incorporate a little bit of blue into various aspects of the truck - not a lot though. Blue has some sentimental value to me. So a few little splashes here and there inside and under the hood and on the chassis will likely be happening.

So, how did you do that? Just with bulbs? Is it harder to see at night?

I have not had it out at night on a drive to test that theory yet lol. Sitting in the yard when I took that picture, it's not bad aside from the tweaking I need to do to them (like the tach side not being lit, etc.) yet.

As for how I did it, yes, it's just new bulbs. I put in equivalent LED's to the bulbs that go in those sockets. I should have taken the time to do the extra step of scraping off the green stuff on the back of the gauges to make it more of a truer blue but I didn't. Still looks good though.

Very stylish! Plug and play LED's? Usually you need to alter wiring to get them to work, at least they are that way for me..

I really dig the blue dash lighting too! Are you going to do your interior light blue as well?

Yup, just plug and play. No wiring changes at all. Not going to go full-on blue inside, going to change the dome lights and such to white LED's (already did the courtesy lights on the driver's side doors...small issue on the passenger side to fix there...) but the dash is all that will get the blue treatment.

I must have got a bad batch of LEDS then. When I did the dome lights, nothing happened.

Watch your polarity on the LED's. They have to be put in the right way because they have positive and negative sides and stuff so they work. It'd be nice if they were better marked for such things, but that usually isn't the case.

They have a polarity? I thought they were just like a regular bulb, only brighter. With the way the clip is in the dome light, I didn't think there was a pos/neg side..

I was always told they do, and hence why they won't work sometimes. Sometimes flopping them end-for-end makes them work. I did have that issue in my half-ton (the Bull) when I went to LED's in those dome lights.

Thanks. Hoping to get that installed sooner than later - just gotta finish collecting the rest of the parts and get some painting done.

I was using the single connector style LED's. That had the flat blade type end similar to the bulb that is used in there. Might have to look into wiring an actual LED bulb holder in place of it.

LED = Light Emitting Diode

Diode means voltage only passes through it one direction. So yes, they are polarity sensitive. Put them in the wrong way and you won't get a darned thing out of them.

I realize that, but on a LED with only one connector, which is what polarity? I must have bought the wrong kind then if this is the case.
