Scan Gauge II vs Edge Insight CTS
Howdy,
I'm new here. Just moved over from the 6.0 forum so you can read my story there under "My Friend"
Please post your experience or feedback on the 6.7 with the two monitors ScanGauge II vs. Edge Insight CTS.
What I do know:
I had a ScanGauge II and it sufficed for me. The Edge Insight is a very cool looking device.
One costs more than the other. I'm not interested in fuel mileage reports, 0-60 graphs or 1/4 mile times. I am interested in EGR, regen, pyrometer readings and things I don't know exist but should. The Edge can display 8+ (inclinators) gauges at once while the ScanGauge just 4 gauges on one screen.
What I don't know:
Are the Edge and Insight capable of all the same readings ?Does either one post Horsepower, RWH or rated ? Does either one post torque ? Does one have more ability than the other ? After contacting both companies, Edge rep was vague on abilities and ScanGauge referred me to their X-Gauge web help and I am still in question which monitor has more or less capabilities ?
Gonna purchase one or the other soon. What advice, opinion or experience can you offer ?
Thanks in advance and loving my 6.7 out of the gate.
Tim

I'm in the minority when it comes to the selection you asked about. I use the ScanGaugeII simply because it gives me what I want in the way of a monitor with no over the top bells and whistles that I don't need.
I monitor the corrected MPH, Distance since last Regen cycle, the number 1 and 4 EGT sensors. I do have other items in the system that I can check, these are just what I prefer to watch.
For $159 it not only gives me some peace of mind, but some pocket change as well.
Good Luck with making a decision.

I used the hp pid on my cts on my recent trip towing the fiver up to lake george n.y.Wasnt accurate at all, numbers all over the place, constantly changing going to 0 up to 60 down to 40 up to 90 down to 0 all within 20 seconds all on a flat highway on cruise. Not worth having as a pid.Ill change it to something else.Havent looked at torque yet.But all in all most pids are accurate and I love it.I got mine on amazon 2yrs ago for 320.Costs more then the scan guage for sure but I like it alot.As far as breaking the bank?I broke the bank when I bought the truck!I highly recommend it.
