Roscoe first day out.......

So after working this truck for 20 years off and on I finally finished it. I did all the work myself but did but turnkey 347 Blueprint engine and new c4 tranny. Now the sad part I insured it 2 days ago and went to take it for its first drive to the store 2 miles..... made it 1 mile. Then white smoke out the left exhaust and instantly truck stalled, towed it home pulled spark plugs. Pictures tell the rest motor has 1 mile on it.

Crap
Did you hear anything from the engine.
That looks like parts flying around in there.

Ngeesh....

'Might wanna scope the #5 cylinder for foreign objects.

Alternatively, could the plug have had too much stick-out? Mis-boxed plugs are not unheard of.

Those plugs look way to long for a small block ford motor IMHO

I agree, those look like long reach plugs more common to the new engines, not a vintage small block.

They are pretty long but you'd have to know which head was being used.
If I remember correctly there are at least three different lengths for SBs.

If it was a plug length problem wouldn't the other plugs look just as bad?

Depends if the crook of the electrode was oriented "just right" as to make contact with the piston.
