Is this 1977 F250 a true Highboy ?
I am asking for assistance to verify if this vin # is for a 1977 Highboy. Any help is appreciated. I looked it up but I'm not sure. The Z is making me think its after the cutoff. Going to look at it today so Id really appreciate any input from you all.

That's what I thought abt the Z too. Guy says it had gas tank in cab he removed and 205 transfer case which leads me to believe its a highboy. I guess I'm gonna have to go look and see whats what. I cant imagine how a later 77 would end up with a 205 transfer case ???? But who knows what people throw together. He says he bought it from the original owners estate but who knows lol

NP-203 chain drive xfer case and standard trans and a NP-205 gear to gear drive and a auto trans was common in the 73-early 77. Or maybe it's the other way around?
Yes NP-205 (married) in all 77.5 to 79's, or maybe not that either, I cant quite remember.

Dueling last High Boy parts catalog references: Before serial number Y20,001 & before serial number Y40,001. Haven't seen the before Y60,001 reference.
The serial number is the last 6 digits of the VIN .. These numbers apply to ALL series of trucks, Bronco's & Econolines, not just to F250's.
Narrow frame refers to the width of the inner frame rails behind the cab. On 1973/77 F250 4WD High Boys and some 1973/79 F350's, it's 33 1/2."
NOTE: Compare the VIN stamped on the Warranty Plate to the VIN on the registration/title to see if they match.
Warranty Plate riveted to the left door face below the latch. People replaced damaged left doors with used doors.
99.9% of the time, they failed to install the original Warranty Plates on the replaced doors.
