I don't drive by my egt gauge near as much as I used to. Unless I'm coming up to a big hill I just let it pull with the cruise on without any worries. That 6 1/2 percent grade I had problems with my oil system on I ran 70 or so at 1250 in OD at 40psi boost, until the ipr dc% started climbing real high. Then the power dropped.

We can get those egt's down Byron. It's just going to hurt that wallet even more! That Travis character I'm sure would be more than happy to help you out!
It was a blast Darin! Not only does it sound and run totally bad a$$, but it will put the biggest smile on your face. There is something about doing a 100 yard burnout on a back country road that is priceless. But yeah, I got a list going. It may take a year or so to get everything in place, but I have already decided to go forward with the following:

ZF Swap, Injectors, Turbo, Intercooler, new rear leafs...probably in that order! This is going to be fun....and expensive, but much cheaper than a nice new $65k truck.

I hear ya Glenn. I love the way mine runs, but it needs some $$ and attention to performance thrown at it, so the journey begins one dollar at a time

And the best part, I didn't break the bank buying my truck!
Yeah Thomas, like I said to Darin, $65k trucks are not an option for me even if I could afford it. Too many other things I wanna do and having the pride of building my own "older" rig is worth it to me.

Well, I know that in the Spring I always get a decent tax return and will get a better job since some things are opening up, so we'll see what happens! I just have to decide what I can and want to go with first. I mean, if I do injectors, then I have high EGTs. If I do turbo and IC, then I am able to support more fuel. See my dilemma? Feel free to chime in, chastise, whatever. I think I am going to lean towards more dependability first so I don't burn it up.Ifi can do it all at once, I will, but I doubt that will be possible. My driving prolly wouldn't allow me to anyways, but I wanna be able to womp on it with confidence. Seriously, Travis's OBS was some inspiration. Definitelty worth the price of admission seeing what these can do and the abuse they can take. Heck, even seeing my truck, mostly stock, take the abuse it did in the desert heat was a huge confidence builder.

Does the water injection help that much? I gotta believe it does since all the tractor pullers use it. That's probably what I'll do someday.

Byron, I think you should do your ZF swap first. Not much point in having all kinds of power if you can't put it to the ground. Then I would do turbo/IC/water before fuel upgrades. This way you'll be sure to have a dependable, cool running engine all the time.

Thanks, its one of my favorites. All one-syllable words for us simple minded Hoosier folks, lol.

One thing is for sure. It is impossible for me to not drive that truck like I stole it. Its intoxicating. Its my idea of what speed (the drug) does to a person. Lol.

Sounds like you have a pretty good plan Byron. Injectors and a turbo will really wake the truck up!

It is fun, that's for sure.

Topeka would be awesome! I'd be there for an fte gathering. I'm unsure if the ET finals are in Topeka or Brainerd next year, but if they are in Topeka we were just talking about going. Even north Texas wouldn't be near as far for an fte gathering.

Texas Motorplex up near Dallas is an amazing race track. Topeka is about 10 hours for me one way. Its doable.

Congrats Aaron, every one needs a house on wheels! Gives you something to do in your share time, LOL The six months in AZ during winter, it seems like all I do is work on the truck and camper getting it ready for another six months on the road. I have a list going now of things I have to do to both of them when I get home, LOL Hate being broke down like I was a few days ago!!

Almost all the final checks are complete, truck is hooked to the camper so I can jump in and go in the morning. It's going to be a great weekend. Already thinking about my next rv. Lol. Just can't bring myself to get rid of the pop up. It has been such a great trailer.
