Texas Trip #2-Ruby Data

Got in to Gila Bend, AZ about 11pm. Truck did awesome over the big grade! My issue now is too much power which means EGTs are also too high. I tried the 75 setting on my chip and no bueno. I can do the 50 and just feather the throttle to keep it up to speed while keeping EGTs manageable. EOT stayed right at 220* and TFT didn't get above 160* so I am pretty happy with it. This same grade I had to pull back in March only allowed 45mph tops. With all the new work I have done, I was pulling 60, but kept having to back off due to the EGT issue. Oh well can't win them all. It'll be my next issue to get sorted out. MPGs were 9 straight up. I am not going to worry about that too much this trip. Just gonna pull and keep it up to speed and see what happens! Thanks for following along guys. Makes it fun!
Corey, the 4" sounds so good!! I am going to try to get a video at some point tomorrow.

My story of ten years of pulling. When you get that one solved, let me know. More power, more fuel, higher EGT's period. Spray water, 4" DP and 5" exhaust will help some. I use my EGT gauge as a gas pedal, LOL. Be safe!

I tried uploading a high idle video as I sit at Ohio Cat waiting for new hydro hoses. However, YouTube wants me to be on wifi.
On edit. This place is amazing. Like tonka store for grownups. Except it gets real pricey real quick. Lol

Casualties of the road
Sorry...had to...just a small $500 price to pay to play
View from the red truck
Truck is doing well, but my trailer tires did not, as you can see! They looked great when we pulled out, but I think 3 years took their toll and the started cracking as soon as we got down the road. Cracks that were not present showed up at our first fuel stop. Ah well...nice vid Todd!!

I am no where near having it solved! LOL!! I had a long climb in New Mex that just forced me to put it back to stock so I could really pull without the stress.... No bueno! Good trip though!

Dude I LOVE the Cat stores. I always stop at Warren CAT in Amarillo when we pass through. Place is like a giant toy store. Now if we could just figure out how to fit an engine in our trucks...

Sucks about the trailer tires Byron. The last camper I had was a 39' Sierra. I had a blow out on it once and it tore the lining and insulation under the camper up, and ripped the plastic fender skirt off. Pics are looking good as always! Keep them coming! Be safe and good luck with the rest of your trip bud!

Hey all, got in a little late trying to make it to the family's house by supper time. I have some reports and photos and the like that I will get up here in the morning from my laptop. I am on my phone at the moment. All I can say is a LONG day of driving, but truck and trailer were flawless with the exception of one code I got regarding the MAP sensor. It was after a long and arduous pull that I just happen to check when I was getting fuel. I cleared it and it has not come back. I am not sure when it was thrown because I got no CEL and no odd behavior. Ah well, we made it and I'll have more to report tomorrow and maybe even a video if it turned out ok. Thanks for hangin in there with me! This is a great place!
