Getting close to time to replace the scorpions
I have a 2013 king ranch with the p 275 55r 20 pirellis as stock tires almost 24k miles on them and it's time to start looking for replacement options. They've been as good as I would expect from stock tires. want to upgrade to an LT rated tire since I tow/haul a lot for work. My last two trucks were hand me downs from my dad when he upgraded to a new one. He always replaced the stock tires with Michelin ltx m/s and m/s2 tires once the stock tires wore out. When I replaced the ltx's on my last truck before I sold it, I got a set of Toyo open country at2's because my company paid for them. I only had the truck for about a month after that before I traded it in so I didn't get much of a chance to form an opinion on the toyos. So when it comes to tires I don't have much experience outside of the ltx's and the pirellis that came stock on my king ranch What tires have you guys replaced your stock tires with and what do you think of them ?

I just replaced my scorpion str's on Friday. I went with Cooper tires HTP's from discount tire. They are a street tire that fits my needs and have a 65k mile warranty. I haven't had them long but I am happy with my decision. I believe that they are a harder tire than the scorpions as I can feel the road a bit more but it's not a drastic difference. Road noise is about the same. Michelins would have cost me over $1000 and I got these for $730. Hope this helps

LTX MS2
The Michelin LTX MS2 where always my go to tire for the F150. This time I decided to try a tire that would be better in the dirt and mud. I purchased the good year wrangler adventure with Kevlar. They come both LT and P rated. I picked P because I rarely tow over 7,000lbs.
I have about 2000 mules on them so far and am happy. They are quite, get good traction in the rain and on dirt roads. They do a great job towing the boat. I can't wait to try them with the car hauler trailer and my car.

I had them on my 2011 (stock Tires) and this year we had a very rare week of light snow and Ice, they weren't really designed for that. Not sure if it was the exact same tire though, mine were Pirelli Scorpion "P-Zeros", more of a speed rated tire, my company truck has cheap Firestone Destination LE's on it and they were better in the Ice that the pirellis, but we are talking a lot less powerful truck (company truck is a 2008 SCab with the 4.6l) too. I've heard real good things about the Michelin tires and BFG's......but I would think any M/T tire wouldn't be as good in the wet and ice as say a A/T.

They must have been the higher speed rated version, softer, mine had 21K on them when I traded the truck, but would be needing replacement soon. They were really soft, if the truck sat for an extended period of time, the flat spots would be pretty bad, they all do it to a certain extent, these were pretty bad for several miles though after sitting.

at their tread, compared to an A/T tire, you'll see a lot more siping, which means better snow capability.
I've had Michelin LTX A/T tires and M/S tires here in the snowy mountains
of Utah, and can say the M/S tires are a noticeable improvement.
