New phone, now no text messages

I upgraded to a newer version of the same Samsung phone. So now I don't get test messages.

I paired the phone to the truck. Any ideas?

Subject should be "new phone..." ???

Go into your phone's bluetooth settings and if it has any settings for it, make sure it is set to allow messaging over bluetooth.

ALSO - when you first pair the phone, there may be a notification that asks if you want to share information/messages with the vehicle. It's easy to miss that notification.

Can you access the contacts in the phone from the truck?

address book works fine with the phone. Maybe I missed something about the notifications. Will look into that.

So, unpair and re-pair your phone and see if you can find anything in the notifications.

Last thing to try? The good ole Master-Reset. I know my Taurus was a little wonky after I upgrade my phone to the latest HTC One (at the time) and a master reset got it to start doing texts with it. At least, I think that's what worked.

It is the version of this new phone that does not allow the Bluetooth messaging. So there is nothing I can do. It is a software version in the phone and there are no updates.

Wow. I wonder why they removed that? I have an HTC One with the latest Kit Kat Android, and it still has it in it.

Can you find out for me what Android version you are running from Settings->About->Software Information ?

Been told that the 4.1.2 is the lasted for me phone. Maybe I will snoop around the Samsung website later and see if there is an update.

Don't know of a way to update the version though. Phone does not call for any updates and I think the website indicates up to date as well.

Must be something with my particular version.

Sync website says I am up to date.

Should be with a newer phone then the last but it is what it is.
