Brake backing plate for 05 EX xlt 6.8 V10

I can not find a set of rear brake backing plates for some reason for my 2005. 2000-2004 EX's no problem but not the 2005. Has anyone ran into this? I need some if I want Emergency brakes. Thanks!! 05 Ex XLT 6.8 V-10 4X4.

Doorman 924-224, RockAuto carries them ($60 for the pair) but you have to order all the other hardware you need.

Obviously, Ford sells the original but comes as a kit with hardware and brake shoes but the cost is $400 per side.

What difference does it make with the caliper placement being in the front or rear of the axle? Just curious. Mine are behind the axle. Just ordered the back plates. Thanks for the info!!!!

Hold on brother! I may have misled you on this part number. The part is what I ordered for my 2005 Ex which is being worked on this week. I called my mechanic who is now going to check if this part is the right one. In all honesty, I took the search results for granted and never bothered to check on the caliper in front or aft of the axle. My mechanic will let me know tonight if the part actually fits and will verify the caliper location (which in my recollection is aft of the axle).

I ordered off their product description(front of axle/behind axle) Got back of axle coming to me. I checked it out before getting them because I couldn't remember what you had and knew not to just order off of the number you gave me. Thanks for the warning though, some people do think differently LOL

I'm glad you pay attention to details. What was the part number for the behind axle caliper configuration?

924-212 is the one I ordered. Still curious about the difference between the front and back mounted caliper.

you 2005 X's are exactly the same as the 2000-2004 X's in the axle department. Some companies have the listings wrong and have the 2005's listed differently due to the 2005-2007 Superduty being different from the 99-04 Superduty

Thanks all for helping clarify this.

Dorman 924-212 is the backing plate to order for anyone in the future searching on this topic.
