While the guys ad leaves a little to be desired, if he is a decent mechanic he'll never want for work. I have been a mobil mechanic, working on heavy equipment and trucks for better than 20 years. Word of mouth is the best form of advertising, I still have most of the 500 business cards I had printed 20 years ago.
I have to hand it to the guy, there is nothing easy about being a field mechanic.

It's a lot different being a heavy equipment/ truck mechanic and just a regular mechanic, especially when it comes to tools. Also here in So Cal everything is a stones throw away, so being a mobile automotive mechanic most times means that there's a reason why he can't work in a shop. Charging $15hr when shop rate is around $80+ also tells a story. Reason I'm being so harsh is that mechanics as a whole have a hard enough time maintaining a good public perception, plus if he was that good he would be making it work legally (insurance, bar license, business license). I've seen a lot of mobile automotive mechanics and bodymen that do way more harm then good.

and reporting all his income, paying payroll and SS taxes, no doubt....
Yeah he'd be doing that if only he HAD a SSN...but CA is quickly becoming an amnesty state so I guess it's up to the rest of us tax-payers to carry the burden.
