Diesel on paper and rags will ignite, but not so easy for straight diesel on concrete.

I second that! It's what to do with it now. I'm shall let it cool down, then attempt to remove it and see what I can do with it. It's definitely going to be some form of cat delete

Thanks everyone for all the help and advice!

So do you have to deal with emission testing there?

The 6,0L sounds sweet with no cat and muffler!

I know this probably looks like a scrambled mess of numbers but it's not too hard to figure out. At least it's in alphabetical order by PID. It's a list of operating values for your truck and is a handy thing to have around to compare with reading from your ScanGauge. It's posted somewhere in this forum in a better format if you find this too confusing.

OPERATING VALUES

Just make shure the numbers are taken exactly like this
Truck in PARK OR NEUTRAL all times during test
ECT at 190* or close to
-------------------------------------------------------------------
KOEO=Key On Engine Off =record value
Low Idel (truck idel on its own)=record value
High Idel (2500RPM)=record value

Hey andy glad it worked out. My guess is bad fuel control lead to your melted cat.

Just back from a spot of lunch...

I don't think the emissions tests are that bad here but I guess i'll find out when the annual test is done! Can I just end the exhaust at the Cat??!!

I was thinking of cutting it open, removing the internals and then welding it back together?

Thanks Rusty, I'll print that off for future reference. I am going to be watching all the parameters closely in the future.

Cheezit, I don't understand what that is. Do I need to do anything with it?

Cheers

Andy

I think your ficm was the root cause of your melted cat

Ah, I see. Makes sense I guess. Any tips on how to separate the exhaust? I have undone the clamp, sprayed it, hit it, sworn at it but it refuses to let go.

I always used an air hammer to pull them out.

Eventually, with a bigger hammer it's off, cut in half, the cat is out and full of soot. For my next stupid question, it it possible to clean the cat at all?

Just gut it and put it back, nothing like the sound of a cat getting gutted
