What is "Delbar"?

Is it an old brand name or what?

Its on an old reflector flare kit....

Was it like a 3:d part, part supplier????

they were all made from a company called YANKEE. Yankee made them for ford, IH and many others

I mean as I understand it IH and ford are both car truck brands but what was delbar?

Google Delbar, there are several links about what they made and who bought them.

 

Probably both. Delbar is an automobile mirror manufacturer who likely made the reflectors way back when and packaged them with flares. Similar road safety kits are still sold today at auto parts stores, truck stops, Walmart etc. They were not an official Ford factory accessory.

 

Genuine Ford accessory, available at the parts counter, came in a metal box:

8C-18286 .. Reflector Kit, includes 3 flags.

B6C-18286-A .. Reflector Kit, includes 3 flags.

I have tried googling both delbar and yankee bit in Sweden delbar means something like dividable, if there is such a Word. And when Google sees that i live in Sweden, they only give le resultat about dividable
And yankee just give me the a LOT of info about the baseball team

Wow, that's in great shape. The dent just gives it some street credit.

 

That is nice. It looks like the Ford one except it says DELBAR instead of FORD. Nice. I have one from my truck that is a Grote reflector flare kit. It is a red box, same size as yours, with the flags and reflectors exactly like yours.

 

Here are two pictures of the mirrors on my 70 f-350. One mirror is the original Ford mirror the other is a Delbar mirror. You can see Delbar Products, Perkasie, PA. One of the original mirrors must have been broken and was replaced with the Delbar. It took me several months after I bought this truck to notice the difference. There is a difference of about 1 inch in length.
