Hi Guys, I am a new member and signing in for the first time. I’m building a 1949 Ford F5 with a 9' flatbed. I am in the process of rebuilding the rear suspension and looking for a parts supplier for these big trucks. Looking for new rear leaf swing hangers, pins, bushings, ect… Thanks.

 

Lots of guys use 'Chucks Trucks'. I think he's in Conneticut. I have bought ford big truck parts from Bob Selzam in Toms River NJ. Bobs business is called 'half ton fun', but he has most all the parts for the big trucks as well. Mac's in NY and Joblot , also in NY has always had the bigger truck parts. Good luck with your project.

 

I see from your profile you're in WI, where are you? Post your location in the upper right hand corner of your post so we know where you're at. This can come in real handy when looking for help like looking for parts. All of the places listed above are good places to look but when dealing with big heavy items shipping is going to kill you so it's better if you can find some place local.

If you're near Milwaukee Babcock Spring, Babcock Auto Spring Company - Home. They work on all kinds of car and truck springs. They might be a bit pricey but they'll most likely have what you need. If you're not close to Milwaukee stop in at a local place that works on large trucks, they should be able to tell you where they go for parts.

If you need bearings and seals a good place to try is Bearings Inc, in Germantown, which is where I live. They either have the bearings and seals you need or can find them. Bearings Inc. - Bearings Online: Roller, Cylindrical, Spherical, Contact, Angular

My local NAPA store is a pretty good source for parts also. You just have to get the right counter guy, the NAPA warehouse in Milwaukee has a pretty good inventory and if the local store doesn't have the parts you need and they have it in their warehouse you can go down and get it the same day.
