New to site I have a 1996 f250 4x4 with auto and 7.3. Transmission was rebuilt about 15000 miles ago. Transmission has been acting up going up even a smaller hill it will not shift down to drive until it crestes over the hill. I'm guessing a solenoid is going out but hate to throw parts. Anyone experience this before thanks

Not real sure on what you are asking

Are you saying it won't down shift or it won't shift to its final gear till you crests a hill ?

 

Is the OD light flashing ?

 

I think he means that the truck will hold onto OD until he actually gets to the top of a hill and then it will downshift. Mine did the same thing when my pump was not providing enough pressure.

 

Yep th that's right only shifting to drive once over the hill. No light is on besides my abs light in this year I heard that the vss and abs is same part?

 

And that's is most like your issue.
Get the abs fixed first and your issue will probably be gone

 

Does the speedometer work normally?
