I have a 1994 f-150 xlt 4x4 with an i6 and 5 speed manual transmission. I'm looking for the transmission test port. Does it even have one? If so, where is it? Thanks

I guess I don't know what you mean by a "test port."
On my '88 M5OD (F-150, 4.9) there was an "observation window," down low, I believe on the driver's side of the bell housing, that is easily accessed by grabbing the rubber plug (approx. 2" square, IIRC), with with your fingers or a screwdriver, and pulling it out.
I can tell you for a FACT that you can observe the motion of the concentric slave cylinder, (encircling the tranny's input shaft--definitely NOT one of Ford's "Better Ideas!", as it requires dropping the trans for a simple maintenance procedure, i.e., replacing a bad slave cylinder--on the F-250's ZF trans, the slave cylinder is EXTERNAL to the bell housing--/rant over) through this observation window.
Well, I wanted to install a transmission temp gauge. And to attach the wire to the transmission, there's a stud that I would screw into the "transmission test port". That's just what the videos I've seen the installation are calling it.
I understand how the gauges hook up. In fact I have one coming in the mail today. However, they are intended for an automatic that is subject to high heat.
