95 steering column.

95 steering column.
I've had 95 F250 for 7 years now. Best damn truck I ever owned. The things a tank and with the 5.8 it will put you back in the seat. What I was wondering is, has any one had any problem with the steering column? It's a non tilt wheel but there must be a bearing in the middle on the column. At first I blamed it on the wife using it to pull herself up in the truck. I drove it like this for several years before replacing the column. After about 2 years I was just driving along when it started to bind up. I had to pull on it hard and I heard a crunch. Now I'm back to square on with the column flopping up and down. I'm having a bit of a problem finding anther one. Will any other year or model fit this?

Any 92-97 ford truck column will work for you as long as it has the same trans. For example, if yours has an e4od, you can't get one from a c6. The linkage does not line up and a couple other things. The only variants are the transmissions, cruise and/or tilt.
You can rebuild the column, but it can be a pain if you haven't done it before and you can sometimes spend as much in parts for it as you can on a good used one. Ask me how I know......
