V10 question

Hey all! I am looking at buying a 2002 F250 SD w/ V10. Engine supposed to be bad. Is it required to pull the cab on a SD with a Triton, like it is with a 6.0 PS?? Thanks in advance! Dale

You never have to pull a cab on a SD, every engine comes out the front just fine. If you have a lift some things might be faster with the cab off, but you can do anything on the ground and most things in-frame.

Pull cab

Well, thanks for the info, I guess the guy I was talking to about this was confused with a 6.0 PS engine. Again thanks! Dale

I hope he's wrong as last year I purchased an 02 F250 V10 with 180K on it. It came to me with absolutely no service records. The known problems with it were resolved with a new clockspring.

Over the winter it started with an occasional no start which turned out to be the fuel pump (and filter for good measure). That was followed by a miss that new plugs resolved.

The rest was just taking care of the unknowns: fresh lube in the rear end, tranny, engine, brakes and suspension checks, etc.

Best of all is it has the no maintenance appearance package which means I don't need to wash it, let alone wax it. Just rinse off the windshield and drive. I'M quite pleased with it.
