It had a terrible chatter on take off. It now is smooth as silk when I let the clutch out. I have it in Florida where I think it might stay for a few years. I had so much more fun with it down here.
Did you paint your truck yourself or have a painter do it? It is very sharp and so smooth looking. I had mine painted but hope to do my next one myself with a lot of practice. Good luck, Steve
Thanks Steve. A friend of mine who owns a body shop did the body work and painting of it. He did a much better job than I had anticipated, making it more of a show truck. Where in Florida do you have yours? I had plans of being in Florida next winter. I have a 52 flathead that was rebuilt and does not have any modifications. I am really happy with the way it runs and sounds. I hope to be able to put it in gear no later than July. I still have to buy tires for it ($$$) and am starting to shop for them now.

Florida

We are in Punta Gorda, Fl. during the winter. I brought mine down in January and had planned to take it back to Middletown, Ohio. I have enjoyed it more down here because they have 15 to 25 shows a week down here. I only go to a couple a week but it's nice to have choices. We are about 25 miles North of Fort Myers. One day I would like to see your truck after it is finished. I have pictures on my home page if you have not seen my truck. Take care and good luck, Steve

Excellent! Thanks so much. Are you going up to Jefferson, WI this weekend for the big swap meet? I'm going to go on Sunday since it is supposed to be cold and rainy tomorrow.

I was thinking of catching up with BobJ and his son there tomorrow but it is going to be rainy and bad? So I am going to go look at a fire truck I mite buy! And I need to get a big check from the job down the street from you so I can get started on it. Sunday I am helping a buddy work on his deck.

Good news, kind of. I figured out my starter button issue. The new repro solenoid is defective. The starter button terminal wasn't hot. I cleaned up the old original solenoid, hooked everything up and the starter button now works. I love it; the truck starts up so quickly!

Check out in front of your service door of your shop. I stopped by and left the blocks at the door. I had to go.

I found them there when I got back from Jefferson (didn't buy anything but I did see a 1947 tonner in the car coral; that's a first.) I will post pics of the tail lights with the spacers hopefully this week. Thanks again!

I hooked up my headlight switch and have a question about it. When I pull the switch to the first position, the parking lights come on. When I pull it all the way on, the headlights come on but the parking lights don't stay on. Is that the way it's supposed to be?? If not, any ideas of why the parking lights would turn off? The tail lights do not come on at all so I need to figure that one out.
Here's a pic of the tail lights with the spacers. The larger of the two spacers is on the passenger side. Not sure if the spacer should be a bit taller. Any opinions?

Tail lights are looking good! I don't think the parking lights were meant to come on with the headlights, but the tail lights should be on with the either.

I'd check your lights to ground in the back. You just installed a hunk of wood there and voltage will not flow. I don't remember if my parking lights were on or not but I think they were with double filament bulbs. Dead battery + just got off work= no looking this morning.

Once you decide on the thickness of your blocks I ll make them out of metal and that should get the lights working .

I removed the wood spacers and the tail lights work. Such excitement! The last thing I need to try is the turn signals. I didn't try them last night because I wanted to end my night on a high note. I am cautiously optimistic that they will work.
