Yeah, I am fairly certain it's a t-stat issue. I am going to run it without them for the summer and revisit installing them in the fall. I am done with antifreeze clean-up and gasket scraping for the time being.

Brake light switch
I am starting to think my truck is cursed. It's been one issue, after another, after another... Generator was squeaking so I brought it in for repair. Then I was having overheating issues with the 52 flathead. I would drive it a couple miles and it would be at 230-240. I replaced the thermostats (180s) and it still overheated; I put in a new 3-core aluminum radiator, 6-blade fan, shroud, fan spacer, new Speedway water pumps and it still was too hot (220). I took out the thermostats and it runs at 180 now. Don't know how it will be for longer distances, but for now it is good and it runs much better. When I pulled it in from my successful test drive, the brake lights were stuck on. I just ordered a new stop light switch. I can't imagine what will prevent me from driving it next; I don't think it's destined for the open road!
I have had difficulties with the re-pop switches, I keep on in the glove box just in case. Also I have had the lights stick on when the brakes were to hot one time, being new there was little room for expansion to the drums. I was using DOT 5 brake fluid which does not handle heat as well as the others. Changed that out and the problem was solved.

Sweet Success
I drove the truck to a car show for the first time yesterday. It was about 20 miles away from home on a sunny 85 degree day. Absolutely no issues on the way there or home! I won a trophy! I need to find a shut off valve to put on the block for the heater. It would have been a much more enjoyable drive without the heat in the cab from the heater.
