And yet another resounding positive response from me! These are my original grill bars too. I wish mine had a little LESS character. I have a '47 1/2 ton to do next, and if I don't find some good grill bars I will make them from wood. (they will look really nice painted cream...)

Well, here it is. All body work is done and it is back home. Winter project will be the wiring and interior with a goal of being on the road in the spring.

 

Holy #&*%! That thing is beautiful. That is gonna be one really fun winter project. I like the barn find look, but maybe because that's easy and within my realm. But that is very, very cool and looks like a top notch paint job and restoration. High Five !!!

All I can say is WOW!!! That paint job turned out immaculate! I'm very happy and excited for you but, also to see another resurrected and back from the grave. Can you please post more pictures please for all of us to drool over? Great Job and congratulations. You're over the hill on the build.

I haven't seen someone performing a stock restoration of that quality in years. It is so nice to see, please keep the updates and pictures coming.

 

This weekend I worked on wiring and installing the instrument panel. The clip that holds the wire on back of the amp gauge broke, so I guess I won't have a working amp gauge unless I can find a replacement

 

This weekend I got the starter button and front headlights in. It seems like everything I do on this truck takes at least 5 times longer than I think it will. I guess that's what I get for sticking with the original (rusty) parts.

What are you using for wiring your truck? Did you get a replacement harness somewhere or are you wiring from scratch? Keeping it 6v or converting to 12v? Also, did you send the speedo out for reconditioning? Sorry for the barrage of questions but I'm trying to plan ahead on my project.
