2014 Okie GTG - Saturday, Sept 13th

Sounds like you two should get together and make it happen. I know of others in the OKC area that would surely want to come. And, as said, I'll come if possible and will probably bring a few others if they want to come.

Guys - The GTG is only 2 days away.
Also, please don't park with any tires on my neighbor's yard. He's a really good guy but doesn't like ruts in his yard - even out by the street. So if you can't park in my drive or in the street in front of my house, please keep your tires on the pavement. PLEASE!

What time is this set to begin? I will still need to stop by the shop tomorrow and remove the engine pieces we were discussing, for refinishing. Been a bit busy this week, and I have to leave a bit early today for a freinds wedding.
Will also need to unload the pallet that has the engine and trans on it, unless I just drive the car.

I would guess that David, Chris, and I will be "at it" by 9:00 tomorrow. But come when you can. And, by the way, since the intake, if not the valve covers, is aluminum we will have to bake it at 400 degrees for an hour to burn off all the yuk that is hiding in the pores. Otherwise when we heat it to cure the powder the yuk will blow the powder off, or at least dis-color it, when it burns and out-gasses. And, if we PC the letters one color and the rest another it will be in the oven several times. In other words, it is a lengthy process so plan on lots of time.

They are all aluminum. The valve covers are a bit oily, but still mostly covered with paint. Granted, that paint will almost peel off.......
Almost thinking of leaving the intake bare aluminum. Should dissipate heat a little better without paint/PC coating on it. Besides, should I decide to add an intercooler later, that piece will be removed. Hate to put a lot of effort into it, if it should become obsoleted later.....

You could also spray it whatever color, inc clear, if you decide. But, oily and dirty aluminum does need degreasing, so I'll turn the parts washer on in the morn to have it hot and we can run all the parts through there. Then rinse with water, dry, and take them to the blast cabinet. That gets them clean but closes many of the pores, hence the need to heat the parts prior to PC'ing.
Anyway, bring them on and we'll see what we get done and what you want to do.

We had beautiful weather and a great time yesterday. I've posted some pics in my 2014 Okie GTG album. And, if any of you took pictures please post them or send them to me. I realize now that I didn't get pictures of everyone. But here are a few of them.
Several people enjoying the sunshine. Unfortunately I don't know everyone's name, so if you want to ID yourself/anyone please do so.
Jason (left) and David setting the timing on David's truck:
Bruno washing Paul/Rogue_Wulff's valve covers in the parts washer:
Paul media-blasting parts:
Chris/ctubutis showing his strength crushing cans, & Eli/Smokenchoken watching:
And me erasing the cuss words:
